Just getting started

So I had planned to start this some time ago.  I figured I needed an outlet, somewhere to scream, "why? why now? what now?" without starting a ruckus.  After surviving a year of my husband's treatment program to get yet another dismal diagnosis, I continue to ride the bus to work, listen to my music, and devote myself to my work as if nothing has happened.

Actually a lot has happened, and call it midlife crisis, or call it cancer crisis, I finally have been motivated beyond fear to be taking advantage of this great communication network to find others like me.  Of all things, I help support the deployment from various high-tech roles to foster conversation.

This is my diary, my experience, day by day as we move through the challenge.  It is my hope that in sharing our challenges, we can start a real conversation about Hepatitis C.  What we need to do is focus more research dollars into the disease that is so frequently associated in our health care system as an alcoholic or drug user's problem.  Along with my story with family & friends, this spot is for anyone that want to see a similar experience of having someone they care for diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C, cirrhosis, liver cancer or all of the above.
